Tias is an outstanding young man, seriously passionate about the empowerment and transformation of lives. He is consistent, loving and deeply passionate about what he does. It has been an absolute pleasure to see Tias' growth and development into a emerging leader in our city, he has coached & mentored many young men through our Dear Youngers Mental health resilience programme that we have run in partnership with NHS Mental Health Foundation Trust, Birmingham Repertory Theatre and was independently evaluated by the Centre for Mental Health. I recommend Tias he is formidable, hardworking, and diligent.
I have worked with Tias in many capacities, initially mentoring him but recently working alongside him within HMP Brinsford, where he was the lead coach on our rehabilitation/resettlement project, delivering one-to ones with our young adults aged 18 - 24.
Tias' background in psychological creative thinking gives him a distinct advantage because
he knows how the mind works. He's able to understand the false stories, and breakdown limiting beliefs that people struggle with, that keep them stuck in self-destructive tunnel vision, drifting from their goals.
Tias is highly skilled at quickly seeing the blocks keeping people stuck. He asks thought-
provoking questions that enable you to stretch your mind, exposing life-hindering rules that
people create due to old programming.
In addition to opening the mind and helping people make significant changes, he helped the
young adults see the positive traits they had about themselves that they had forgotten about,
utilising timeline therapy, a powerful process of techniques for personal change and growth
by facilitating the elimination of the painful emotions attached to their memories or events in
the past, that focused on what they could learn from those events to use as a resource for the
future.
During our work together, we explored identity, values and vision and used them as the
pillars to enable young adults to realign their lives to purpose and create an intentional plan
for life.
Tias' contribution to the EY Outreach and Invested Man HMP Brinsford Resettlement project was
truly outstanding and had a significant impact on the young people he worked with. Tias
consistently delivered weekly one-to-one coaching sessions, demonstrating a remarkable ability to
connect with the young individuals and help them explore their innate potential. Through his
guidance, he skilfully assisted the participants in delving deeper into their abilities, encouraging
them to tap into their hidden talents and strengths.
Tias' ability to shift mindsets and instil a forward-thinking perspective within the young people
helped the young people create their own short film, present to large groups, and focus on their
personal development. By utlising an array of cognitive neurological techniques, he helped them
overcome the challenges they had faced, enabling them to see beyond their past and embrace a
positive and proactive approach towards life. This transformative mindset undoubtedly played a
pivotal role in their journey towards developing a pro-social identity. Moreover, Tias demonstrated
exceptional proficiency in employing trauma-informed practices. He skilfully addressed the
participants' past traumas and fears associated with entering society and dealing with negative
stigmas. His empathetic and sensitive approach fostered a safe and nurturing environment,
empowering the young men to confront their fears and take steps towards a brighter future. Tias'
dedication to trauma-informed practices undoubtedly helped the individuals overcome significant
obstacles and regain confidence in their ability to reintegrate into society.
Overall, Tias' effectiveness in communicating with the young men left a lasting imprint on their
lives. His ability to connect with them on a deep level and provide guidance was uniquely
impactful and defeinitely stands out from other coaches who deliver work in this sector. Through
his efforts, he not only helped them grow personally but also assisted them in finding their
purpose and direction in life. In conclusion, Tias' involvement in the EY Outreach and Invested Man
HMP Brinsford Resettlement project was instrumental in the positive transformation of the young
individuals he worked with. His unwavering commitment, effective communication skills,
utilisation of cognitive neurological techniques, and trauma-informed practices showcased his
exceptional abilities as a coach and mentor. Tias played an integral role in empowering these
young men to overcome their past and embrace a future filled with purpose and possibilities.
